GM's Report: Dec'08

Key activities of the staff group:
- The staff group was pleased with the positive and successful AGM. The AGM ran relatively problem free. As this was the first AGM organized by this staff group and it was organized within a chaotic time period, we look forward to organizing the 2009 AGM with better planning timelines and some innovations. Staff were particularly energized by the positive and unified nature of the meeting.
- RM retention activities continued. On December 10, Aj Thakker and Larry Toner met with the RM of Grandview at Kelfield and Nial Kuyek and Glen Julseth met with the RM of Great Bend at Borden. On December 15, Greg Marshall and Nial Kuyek participated in a conference call with the RM of Chesterfield and RM Representative, Bob Hammerlindl.
- Adam Harnett worked on analysis of the MNP report on Crop Insurance.
- Sonia Korpus worked on follow-up to the December 3 meeting of the Board of Directors and the AGM.
- Participated in a meeting of the EG and S conference planning committee.
- Participated in a CFA conference call relative to the new Grains and Oilseeds Committee.
- Participated in a conference call with the Producer Payment Security working group.
- Completed a performance appraisal with Policy Analyst
- The President and GM met with Jim Thomson of ICR to discuss lease renewal at our existing location as well as alternatives.
- Discussion with Guy Ash of the CWB relative to the CWB weather network, sponsorship opportunities, and application to Crop Insurance.
