Key Activities of the Staff Group
- Aj Thakker continues the task of editing the tapes of the Ecological Goods and Services Conference to develop segments for broadcast on the Access Cable system and for distribution by CD to interested audiences.
- Doug Faller officially joined APAS as Policy Manager on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. We look forward to the abilities, experience and knowledge that Doug brings to APAS.
- Aj Thakker, Doug Faller, and Nial Kuyek attended the CFA Semi-Annual Meeting in Kelowna. It was timely and necessary exposure of these staff to the issues and organizations of CFA.
- Doug Faller and Nial Kuyek participated in the APAS Livestock Committee Meeting and the meeting of livestock organizations on August 6, 2009.
- Group benefits coverage through the Chamber of Commerce for the three permanent staff was put in place effective August 1, 2009.
- Sonia coordinated the mailing of a letter from President Marshall and invoices for member renewal to Rural Municipalities during the last week of July.
Key Activities Specific to the General Manager- Accompanied President Marshall to the official opening of Milligan BioTech in Foam Lake. It was an excellent opportunity for networking and visibility.
- Participated in the meeting of the Executives of APAS and SARM on August 4, 2009.
- Participated in two meetings with the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors and Farm Leadership Council to plan the conference which is being organized and sponsored by the three organizations in Saskatoon on November 19, 2009. The conference – Balancing the Bottom Line: Practical Tools and Solutions for Successful, Sustainable Prairie Farms – will focus on economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
