Each month the two Directors of APAS representing District 1 will be publishing a short report that will outline the specific activites and events that they have attended as part of the Board of Directors or as members of specific committees.

Memorandum To: District 1 APAS Rural Municipality Representatives

Re: Meeting of District 1 APAS RM Representatives 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010

Directors Arlynn Kurtz and Ernie Briggs held a conference call with

District 1 Representatives at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 involving 8 Representatives and the General Manager.

 

The Farming for Profit conference to be held in Moose Jaw on June 27 and 28 was discussed.  Each District of APAS will send a Board member and Representative to the conference.  It was agreed that Ernie Briggs and Jim Ross would be the participants from District 1.

 

The Directors and General Manger provided updates on key APAS activities and responded to questions.

 

The need for a summer District Meeting was discussed.  It was agreed that District 1 will hold a District Meeting on Monday, June 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  The timeframe for the meeting will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to be followed by a BBQ.  The purpose of the meeting is to deal with priority APAS and policy issues with the BBQ providing the opportunity for networking.

Whitewood was discussed as a possible location but ruled out in favour of a location that would be better for Representatives from the southern part of District 1.  It was agreed that Representatives would be asked in this communication to contact the General Manager with any suggestions for location and facility for the meeting.
