THE CANADIAN FEDERATION OF AGRICULTURE

PROUDLY WORKING FOR FARMERS SINCE 1935

Who We Are
The CFA has been representing farmers and the farming community in Canada at the federal level since 1935. Formed to answer the need for a unified voice to speak on behalf of Canadian farmers, the CFA continues to act as the spokesperson for farmers at the Federal level. The CFA is a farmer-funded, national umbrella organization made up of provincial general farm organizations and national commodity groups which collectively represent over 200, 000 farm families from coast to coast.

What We Do

After 75 years, we’re still working for you. The CFA promotes the interest of Canadian agriculture and agri-food producers, including farming families, through leadership at the national level. We’re committed to ensuring the development of a thriving agriculture industry in Canada.

We’re dedicated to discussing issues and assisting members and the government in forming and promoting national agricultural polices which meet changing economic conditions. The CFA is committed to promoting and advancing acceptance of positive social, economic, and environmental conditions of all engaged in agricultural pursuits.

Why YOU Are Important

The agriculture industry plays an essential role in the lives of every Canadian. The CFA advocates on behalf of Canadian farmers at the federal and international levels. We have been actively promoting our members' policy priorities, including business risk management, trade, food safety, environmental and science issues, rural issues, and transportation issues. By opening the lines of communication amongst farmers and the CFA, we’re positive the next 75 years will be even better. We are committed to being the national voice for farmers, working closely with all of our member organizations to enhance and strengthen the lives of people in our agriculture community.
