What is the Canadian Farm Learning Centre?
The Canadian Farm Learning Centre is a collection of online courses created to assist farm business owners in furthering their knowledge and understanding of farm business management.
Our courses present complex topics in an easy-to-understand online format. Farmers are able to work through individual courses addressing legal and tax structures, financial management, succession planning, business management and wealth management topics. Once the farm business owner becomes familiar with a topic, they are provided with worksheets and quizzes to further their knowledge by incorporating the specifics of their own farm business.
As a free extension to our courses, our blog, The Home Quarter, offers online articles and multimedia content to help you explore relevant farm business topics.
Why Was the Canadian Farm Learning Centre Created?
Simple. To give farm business owners the tools to develop a deeper understanding of how to best manage their farm business.
As stronger business skills are developed, a farm business manager is better equipped to work alongside their professional advisory team to develop a stronger and more efficient farm business plan.

Other Resources: The Home Quarter
An extension of our courses, The Home Quarter is a meeting place for both producers and agricultural organizations to come together to further their knowledge on the issues and opportunities currently facing Canadian Agriculture. Chock full of professional content produced with the farm business manager in mind, The Home Quarter is an excellent resource for those looking to explore relevant business topics.
Perhaps most exciting of all, this platform is 100% free to all users. It features a variety of exclusive content such as:
The Home Grown section is a collection of articles written in-house by our staff at the Canadian Farm Learning Centre. Our expertise is heavily rooted in the business side of farming. As a result, the articles present in this section will focus primarily on just that. While we understand that there are multiple aspects to farming, this is typically the most actively avoided.
Thus, it is our mission to deliver relevant articles meant to encourage Canadian Farmers to put the business back into farming.
Coffee Row features content produced by our external partners who share the same vision and mission as us: to cut through the noise and provide quality resources to Canadian Farmers.
Whether it be personal stories or operational how-tos, Coffee Row offers readers the chance to explore the true depth of their industry all on one site. Each Coffee Row series features periodically released content that delves into the series topic.
