Saskatchewan Launches Innovative Conservation Program

Saskatchewan is about to embark on a revolutionary conservation initiative that will fundamentally change how environmental challenges are handled in the province.

WHEN:            THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2011

                        9:30 A.M.

WHERE:          Qu’Appelle Room

                        Regina Inn, 1975 Broad St.

WHAT:            Meet leaders of this unique environmental coalition which includes the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan,Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Saskatchewan Association of Watersheds, and Delta Waterfowl Foundation

Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS) has a simple, yet revolutionary goal…create a healthy, working landscape that sustains agriculture, wildlife and natural spaces for all Canadians.

Under ALUS, farmers receive payments to deliver a variety of environmental goods and services; things like wildlife and pollinator habitat, improved water quality and cleaner air. It’s a new solution to our growing environmental concerns.

It’s good for farmers, good for wildlife and ultimately good for all Canadians. It's conservation everyone can be part of.
